Dr. Magid knows the importance of your horse’s mouth relating to the performance of your horse.   He uses state of the art equine dental technology and techniques to keep your horse performing at his/her best.   Dr. Magid provides complete dental care using a combination of a powerfloat tool, hand tools, and tranquilization/sedation.   Dr. Magid can assist your horse with his/her performance without problem teeth getting in the way.  Here's what he has to say about Equine Dentristy:

I really enjoy doing performance equine dentistry! You will be amazed at the difference carefully done, professional dental care can make in your horses’ performance and comfort. I think that attention to detail in this procedure is of paramount importance to a performance horse. A full speculum exam is very important to quality dentistry.

I use both hand and power equipment. I really like the Swissfloat. It is powerful and fast. It has smooth edges, and enough steel in the head to provide sufficient thermal mass to prevent overheating of the teeth. I generally do my finish work by hand.

I have a very complete tool kit to deal with the vast majority of dental conditions in the field. With the aid of local anesthetic, nerve blocks, sedation, and even short-duration general anesthetic, I can extract diseased cheek teeth or incisors right in the field.

Dr. Magid has a portable stockade that he can bring to your site.  The portable stockade is made by Montana Westwood.  The stockade has a great design and is fully padded for your horses comfort and safety.  All four sides of the stocks open quickly to load your horse with minimal stress or to safely release your horse in a hurry.  Additionally, these stocks are fitted with an attachment that allows me to easily position your horses head in a convenient and comfortable position for both horse and for me during dental and medical procedures.
